University of Évora and APS are promoting the NEXUS International Conference: Digital and Gree Transition in Maritime Ports: Trens and Challenges (DGTMP 2024)on December 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th, 2024, at Évora and Sines, Portugal.
Within the scope of the Nexus Agenda Innovation Pact, under the RRP, the presented NEXUS International Conference aims to exchange advances, research and trends in the areas of digital logistics and sustainable mobility in seaports. These issues are crucial for the development of an increasingly efficient and competitive port activity. Throughout this congress, will be explored the latest trends, technologies and strategies that are revolutionizing the way ports infrastructures are operated and managed.
Digital logistics provides the tools to optimize processes, reduce costs and improve the traceability of goods. From warehouse automation to intelligent management of terminals, gates and containers, digitalization is transforming the supply chain and enabling greater agility in ports. On the other hand, sustainable mobility and the green transition have become an unavoidable priority. The electrification of ports, the energy transition, fuel substitution and emission reductions are essential to ensure a cleaner and more resilient future.
The Ibero-American Science and Technology for Development Program (CYTED) is an initiative created by the governments of Ibero-American countries, with the aim of promoting cooperation in science, technology, and innovation for the harmonious development of the region, by means of CYTED Thematic Networks with transversal areas related to sustainability. Within its thematic areas, the purposes of Energy networks are to contribute to access to clean technologies and sustainable development in the energy area.
The NEXUS International Congress is joined by the Ibero-American Cooperation Networks within the scope of the CYTED program, RITMUS (Ibero-American Network for Sustainable Urban Transport and Mobility), RIMSGES (Ibero-American Research Network on Sustainable Energy Management System Models) and TRAPECIO (Ibero-American Network on Enabling Technologies for Near-Zero Energy Buildings in Ibero-America). These networks include more than 300 researchers from Universities, Research Centers, Administration and Companies from more than 18 Ibero-American countries, such as Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Guatemala, Ecuador, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Perú, Panamá, Uruguay, Cuba and Paraguay. Nexus International Conference will host meetings and seminars of these three Ibero-American Cooperation Networks, to analyse the challenges of the energy generation and use for the next decades.
