The human brain is an incredibly complex system, best understood through a blend of knowledge and practices from various scientific fields. The EBRAINS Student Conference on Interdisciplinary Brain Research offers an open platform for early career researchers to exchange innovative ideas across disciplines relevant to brain research and neuroscience.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the data-driven, multidisciplinary approach to brain research fostered by EBRAINS and gain hands-on experience with its platform and tools. The conference promotes extensive scientific dialogue, both intra- and interdisciplinary, among peers and faculty through lectures, workshops, hands-on training, and social events.
This on-site 3-day conference will take place in the beautiful Château de Valrose in the south of France from the 11th to 13th of March, 2026. It is organised by the EBRAINS Education Programme and the EBRAINS Student Ambassadors.
Participation in the EBRAINS Student Conference is open to the entire student community and early career researchers, whether they are affiliated with EBRAINS institutions or not. Participants without contributions to the scientific programme are also welcome. We encourage all early-career scientists to register and aim for an equal representation of all genders.
Abstract Submission
We invite original, high-quality submissions presenting innovative research from all disciplines that are working on understanding the human brain. We are welcoming early-career researchers from the following fields to contribute their recent work and share it with the neuroscience community:
- Cognitive science
- Computer science
- Mathematics and physics
- Medicine
- Neuroscience
- Philosophy
- Psychology
- Robotics
These contributions can emphasise theoretical or empirical works relating to a wide spectrum of fields, including those listed above, but not limited to.
Studying and trying to understand the human brain nowadays requires interdisciplinary exchange, which is why we particularly encourage submissions with the potential to inspire collaboration in the research community by introducing new and relevant problems, concepts, and ideas, even if the work is at an early stage of development.
By submitting an abstract, you will have the opportunity to present your work during the EBRAINS Student Conference. Your presentation may have one of the following formats:
- oral plus a poster presentation
- poster presentation only.
All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the Programme Committee, based on their relevance to the conference topics, scientific quality and innovation, accuracy, methodological rigor, and overall presentation.
Please NOTE that registration for the conference is mandatory when submitting an abstract.
