In an era marked by constant industrial and technological transformations, the promotion of heritage stands as a path forward for sustaining our legacy, culture and identity. Effat College of Humanities therefore proudly announces its Second International Conference on the Humanities, themed ‘Fostering Cultural Identity: Navigating Human Legacies.’ Scheduled for November 25, 2024, at Effat University in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this gathering is designed to invoke a rich discourse among varied scholars, practitioners, enthusiasts, cultural advocates, and policymakers, who will explore transformative strategies for the stewardship and revitalization of cultural legacies in contemporary societies.
The conference aims to forge a multidisciplinary nexus, bringing together the vibrant spectrums of the humanities and liberal arts to explore pioneering approaches in sustaining and enriching cultural legacies. Through a series of exciting cultural lineups and thought-provoking paper sessions, participants will engage with social, cultural and academic advancements as well as cutting-edge research that challenge conventional boundaries and propose novel methodologies for cultural preservation. Join us as we navigate the complex landscapes of cultural identity and heritage, fostering a discourse that is both enriching and essential for the continuity of human legacies.
Submission Guidelines
Authors are requested to submit their abstracts electronically using the online conference system Easy Chair.
Abstracts should include the following:
-Title of paper
- First and family name of author(s)
- Institutional Affiliation
- Current position/academic title
- Email Address
- At Least 5 keywords that best describe the subject area of your submission
Requirements
Papers should describe original completed work rather than intended work. A paper accepted for presentation cannot be presented or have been presented at any other meeting with publicly available published proceedings. Papers that are being submitted to other conferences or workshops must indicate this on the title page.
Presentations & Publications:
- An accepted paper may have more than one author. However, the main presenter in the conference must be specified.
- Selected presenters may be asked to develop their papers for an internationally peer-reviewed volume on the topic as conference proceedings. The presenters might be asked to pay a Publication fee.

First Session: Innovations in Humanities and Liberal Arts: Pioneering the Future of Cultural Heritage Preservation
Objective: This session seeks to illuminate the dynamic intersection between the broad spectrum of Humanities, including liberal arts education and cultural heritage, exploring how interdisciplinary approaches in the humanities can pioneer new methods for cultural preservation and enrichment. Through a blend of historical insight and forward-looking innovation, we will delve into how the liberal arts can serve as a bastion for cultural heritage in the modern world.

- Humanities at the Forefront of Cultural Preservation: This topic will define the unique position of humanities in cultural preservation. It will emphasize how subjects based on historical awareness, philosophical ethics, and artistic appreciation taught within humanities disciplines contribute to a deeper understanding and preservation of cultural and artistic heritages.
- Rethinking Culture and its Preservation through Liberal Arts Education: This topic will examine the prospects of liberal arts in redefining and expanding the boundaries of cultural heritage. It will demonstrate cases where interdisciplinary approaches have led to innovative preservation and, often, reinterpretation of cultures and traditions.
- Ethical Positioning in the Ownership in Cultural Heritage: This topic will address the moral considerations in managing and representing cultural heritage. Presenters will discuss issues surrounding cultural ownership, repatriation of artifacts, and the implications of commodifying cultural assets.
- Liberal Arts as a Bridge for Cultural Diplomacy: This discussion will explore how a liberal arts education can actively foster cultural diplomacy and enhance global understanding. We'll look at the humanities' unique capacity to connect disparate cultures and support international relations through cooperative cultural endeavors.
- Integrating Technology in Cultural Heritage Conservation: In this segment, presenters will examine how modern technological advances can be incorporated within liberal arts practices to safeguard and share cultural heritage. This includes a look at how digital archives, virtual reality, and interactive exhibits are being used to expand access and engagement with cultural assets across diverse populations.
- Future of Humanities and Preservation of Culture: Challenges and Opportunities. This topic will evaluate the challenges facing humanities education today in its pursuit of preserving cultural heritage, including financial constraints and diminishing student interest. Presenters will offer insights into how humanities as a discipline can evolve to continue supporting the promotion and safeguarding of our cultural heritage in an increasingly digital world.
Second Session: Bridging Cultures: Exploring the Frontiers of Cross-Cultural Psychology
In today’s increasingly interconnected world, understanding human behavior across cultures is more crucial than ever. Cross-cultural psychology offers a powerful lens for examining the fascinating interplay between universal psychological processes and cultural influences. This symposium aims to bring together leading scholars and researchers from diverse fields within cross-cultural psychology to explore cutting-edge research, theoretical advancements, and real-world applications.

Third Session: motion of Arts and Cultural Heritage: Digital Media Shaping Cultural Images
This session explores the role of digital media as a key component in the success of arts and cultural heritage promotion at both national and global levels, as digital media plays a crucial role in building a positive cultural image of particular individuals or countries in the minds of others. The session aims to examine topics related to raising awareness about arts and cultural heritage, as well as protecting them from distortion or obliteration. Efforts in communication relevant to these goals will be discussed and critiqued to determine their effectiveness in developing current arts and cultural heritage promotion plans.

Investigate how digital media is utilized in promoting arts and cultural heritage, as well as assess the media coverage of new archaeological excavations and cultural events. Examine the efforts being made through digital media to protect arts and cultural heritage from distortion or obliteration.
- How can new national projects be promoted and capitalized on?
Explore methods for promoting new national projects on digital media platforms and analyze their effects on local and international users in social, political, and economic spheres.
- What is the role of digital media in raising awareness about topics related to arts and cultural heritage?
Examine the efforts being made on digital platforms to raise awareness about topics related to arts and cultural heritage and identify any challenges that may be hindering these efforts. Discuss the influence of influencers, artificial intelligence, apps, and social media in raising awareness about arts and cultural heritage.
