Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University
December 2nd & 3rd, 2024
A Two-Day Conference
Green finance seeks to boost financial flows (including banking, microcredit, insurance, and investment) from the public, private, and non-profit sectors toward sustainable development goals. Better management of environmental and social risk is a critical component, as is capitalizing on possibilities that provide a reasonable rate of return, environmental benefit, and more accountability.
The countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have been adopting multiple green initiatives and strategies aimed at boosting economies through diversification and lowering carbon emissions. These include initiatives to enhance the business environment, build infrastructure, expand financing for businesses, especially small and medium-sized firms (SMEs), and enhance educational outcomes, among other factors. These strategies decrease exposure to fluctuations in oil prices, increase employability, and lower the cost of financing for operating businesses. They also ensure economic and financial stability for these economies.
