The VP Institute, together with Fraunhofer ISI, is pleased to announce that the 14th Global TechMining Conference (GTM2024) will take place September 16th – 17th “in-person” in conjunction with the 28th International Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators. Tech mining is text-oriented analytics that aims to generate practical intelligence from Science, Technology & Innovation (ST&I) information resources. Expanding and novel data bring both opportunities and challenges. Researchers, analysts, and decision makers need to track ST&I dynamics together with rapidly evolving economic & societal factors. GTM2024 seeks to bring together ST&I analysts, software specialists, researchers, and managers to advance and adopt data-driven solutions as we look to the future: a) Exploring the rapidly evolving nature of Science, Technology & Innovation (STI) data compilations and access modes b) Identifying Tech Mining’s “Grand Challenges” c) Exploring what societal “Grand Challenges” will mean for Tech Mining d) Assessing how various AI tools can transform Tech Mining processes and finally, e) What do these new solutions, sources and challenges mean against the background of open science and open data?
Conference topics include and will expand upon:
- New data sources (open data)
- Updating methodologies to meet new opportunities
- Open Science
- Knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer
- Large language models for patents, publications and other text-based data sources.
The conference program committee invites abstract submissions for the following formats:
- Oral Presentation. Oral presentations (up to 20 minutes) addressing well-advanced research.
- Power Talk. A power talk consists of an abbreviated oral presentation (5 to 8 minutes). The intent is to showcase work (can be "in process") in which an early career researcher has led the research, and/or played a significant role in the research.
