About

SCORES (Student Computing Research Symposium)is an annual research conference jointly organized by University of Ljubljana, University of Maribor, and University of Primorska. Its goal is to encourage students to present and publish their research work in the domain of computer science and to facilitate cooperation and creativity.

We invite both bachelor’s and master’s students to submit research papers from all fields of computer science, including, but not limited to:

• Artificial intelligence
• Algorithms and data structures
• Computer architecture and organization
• Computer graphics
• Combinatorial optimization
• Information management systems
• Human–computer interaction
• Intelligent systems
• Operations research
• Parallel and distributed computing
• Pattern recognition
• Programming languages
• Software engineering
• Theoretical computer science.

Submission

Papers should be submitted via the EasyChair system.The length of the paper is limited to 4 pages. Authors are strongly encouraged to use the template available on the conference website. At least one author of each paper must be a student. MSc students must write their papers in English. BSc students may choose between English or Slovene language. All forms of academic dishonesty(e.g., plagiarism) will be dealt with accordingly.

After the submission deadline, the program committee will rank the submitted papers according to the following criteria:

1. Novelty: Is the material presented in the paper sufficiently novel to warrant acceptance? Are the paper’s contributions clearly stated?
2. Technical correctness: Is the paper technically sound?Are the methods thoroughly announced and cited?
3. Validation: Are all claims theoretically and/or empirically(experimentally) substantiated?
4. Presentation: Is the paper well-organized? Is the paper readable? Is the language acceptable?

If your paper passes the acceptance threshold, it will be designated either for oral presentation or for poster presentation. Authors may choose not to publish their paper in the conference proceedings, i.e., just present the paper at the conference.

Best Paper Award

The program committee may designate up to three papers accepted to the conference as SCORES Best Papers. Every submission is automatically eligible for this award.
