The European Data Conference on Reference Data and Semantics (ENDORSE) serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, experience and best practices about the management of interoperable reference data and semantic technologies. Since the inaugural conference in 2021, ENDORSE has brought together experts, researchers and professionals from national public administrations, international organisations and EU institutions to discuss emerging trends in the fields of semantic interoperability, knowledge management and digital policymaking.
The Publications Office of the European Union and Interoperable Europe supported by Digital Europe Programme are bringing the next edition of the ENDORSE conference on 8-9 March 2025.
Welcome to ENDORSE 2025! We invite scholars, innovators and practitioners in the fields of reference data and semantic technologies to share their insights and research. Below, you will find everything you need to prepare and submit your proposal. Commercial proposals will not be considered.
Focus areas of ENDORSE 2025
The main focus areas of the conference are the following:
- The use of reference data and semantics to provide a consistent way of interpreting data and to make it easier for users to access data directly in real time
- The implementation of semantic technologies in our everyday lives, bringing them closer to citizens in a seamless manner and in socially beneficial ways
- The interaction between semantic and multilingual intelligence
- The role of semantics in the era of artificial intelligence

The call for presentation and paper proposals opens on 4 November 2024. The deadline for the submission of abstracts of presentation proposals is 6 January 2024. The review of presentation proposals will take place in January - February 2025. The decisions of the Programme Committee will be notified to all potential speakers by 17 March 2025. Speakers must submit their presentations by 5 May 2025. ENDORSE takes place on 8 – 9 October 2025 in Brussels. All speakers who want their papers published must submit their final texts by 11 October 2025.
Submission Guidelines
Submission types
- Presentations: The number of slides is limited to 8-10 per presentation; videos can be included, where relevant. Allowed format: PowerPoint template.
- Posters and case-studies: Focus on real-world applications of reference data and semantic technologies. The duration of poster sessions and case-study exhibitions will not exceed 15 minutes.
- Lightning talks: The number of slides is limited to 4 and the duration of the talk should not exceed 5 minutes.
- Demos: The duration of the demo should not exceed 15 minutes. Its focus should be on real-world applications of reference data and semantic technologies.
- Recommended format: MP4, with voice-over (captions recommended).
- Academic papers: Each paper should not exceed 5 000 words. Allowed format: Word template.
Important: Proposals must be presented by at least one author at the conference. Papers not presented will be excluded from the conference website.
Submission details
Short abstracts and biographies of accepted papers/presentations will be used in the programme and event advertising.
- Language: All submissions must be in English.
- Abstracts: Submit both a short (up to 250 words) and a long (up to 750 words) version. The long abstract should (World template) facilitate a deeper understanding of the submitted work and should consist of clearly written text, it can include a concise description of the purpose, methods, and implications of your work. This will be used to evaluate your work and place in the appropriate session. Presenters intending to have a paper included in the conference proceedings are invited to mention it clearly in their long abstract.
- A biography (up to 350 words) for each author/presenter and a portrait (photo in JPG/PNG) for each presenter (presenters must be clearly identified). This should include the organisation, institution, public service or company, the position or title, social media links, and a short statement of interests.
When submitting your proposal, select the format most conducive to showcasing your work.
Submitting your work
Should your submission be accepted please:
- Ensure at least one author can present your submission at the conference in person (only presenters' names will be in the programme; all authors can be listed on presentation materials and the paper)
- Complete any required revisions and submit final versions by the abovementioned deadlines
