The iWOAR is an international workshop with conference character, which is organised by the Hasso Plattner Institute, in-cooperation with ACM. This year's workshop will be held in Potsdam (Germany) between September 26-27, 2024. The workshop focuses on Human Activity Recognition and Artificial Intelligence with wearable sensors and related technologies. This year’s symposium will feature as keynote speaker the presence of Prof. Dr. Thomas Plötz, a Computer Scientist with expertise and almost two decades of experience in pattern recognition and machine learning research. His research focuses on applied machine learning, which is developing systems and innovative sensor data analysis methods for real world applications. He joined the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017, where he works as an associate professor.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Full papers: Submissions must follow the ACM SIGCHI Paper Format. The submission deadline has been extended to July 7, 2024.
- Posters: Submissions must follow the ACM SIGCHI Extended Abstract Format and are due by August 1, 2024.
Accepted submissions will be published in the iWOAR 2024 Proceedings online in the ACM Digital Library.

Venue
This year's iWOAR will take place at the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering gGmbH (HPI), an information technology non-profit company and Digital Engineering faculty of the University of Potsdam, August-Bebel-Str. 88/Haus L, 14482 Potsdam, Germany, which is just a stone's throw away from Berlin.
