Survey of Cloud Government Services in Different Countries, Case Study (Australia-UK and US)

Abstract

Cloud computing is a computation model based on computer networks such as internet, which presents a novel pattern for supply, consumption, and delivery of the computational services through the utilization of the networks. In the same terms, the design of the data service centers of the countries is carried out in compliance with cloud service provisioning. Government cloud is regarded today as one of the most important e-government services in the world, mitigating a great deal of expenses pertaining to investments in infrastructural and software domains. Hence, it is critical to become familiar with factors involved in the success of the government cloud of the countries and the impact of exploiting the government cloud on the national economies improvements. The present study analyses the government cloud services in the case of three countries namely Australia, Britain, and the US, extracting the main incentives of ratifying the use of cloud computing in the governmental-sector organizations. The outcome of the comparison made between the government cloud services of these three countries is such that the need for scalability and cost reduction is the most important factor that drives the government-sector organizations towards transferring their services to the cloud, and the more the governmental cloud is implemented, the more effective it would be for the economy of the country of interest.
