Effectiveness, Robustness, and Applicability of Formulations for Multibody Dynamics: a Comparative Study

Abstract

Several different methods and formulations have been proposed for the simulation of multibody systems.In this work, the focus is placed on examining the effectiveness of representative formulations by employing well-established benchmark models and evaluation methods.Four formulations were compared using different integration formulas, including an evaluation of the impact of their parameters on the efficiency of the method and the accuracy of the results.
