Abstract

In an increasingly globalized world, English has emerged as a dominant lingua franca, influencing cultural identities across diverse populations. This paper examines the impact of English as a global language on cultural identity, exploring both the opportunities and challenges it presents. Through an analysis of case studies, literature, and qualitative interviews, the study investigates how the widespread use of English affects individuals' sense of cultural belonging, the preservation of local languages, and the negotiation of cultural identities. By highlighting these dynamics, the paper provides insights into the broader implications of English as a lingua franca for cultural diversity and offers recommendations for maintaining cultural heritage while engaging in global communication.
